Idli Milagai Podi

Ingredients:

Bengal gram dal   -  1 cup (100 gms)
Black gram dal    -  1 cup  (100 gms)
Red chillies         -   20 nos(a hand full)
Sesame(gingly)   -  50 gms (white sesame)
Pepper(optional) -  1 table spoon
Cooking oil         -  1 table spoon
Salt to taste

1.  Heat kadai and add the sesame seeds.  Stir continuously till the sesame crackles and turns to light brown colour.
2.  Remove the sesame from stove and add 1 table spoon of oil and both the dals.  Also pepper which is optional and fry till they turn brown and remove from kadai and spread it in a plate for cooling.
3.  Now put the red chillies in the kadai and fry them till the chillies turn brown colour, spread it in a plate for cooling.
4.  Take the dals and red chillies in a mixer and grind it to coarse powder.
5.  Now add the sesame seeds and salt and run the mixer for just a few mins and remove from grinder.
6.  Store it in an air tight container.  It tastes terrific with idli, dosa and even curd rice.
