Ingredients:
Black gram dal - 1 tea spoon
Bengal gram dal - 1 tea spoon
Red chillies - 3 - 4 nos
Onions - 3 - 4 nos
Cooking oil - 1 tea spoon
Salt to taste
1. Finely chop the onions.
2. Heat oil in a kadai and add the dals and red chillies and fry till golden brown.
3. Now add the finely chopped onions and keep stirring and cook till transparent.
4. Remove from stove and allow it to cool.
5. Grind it coarsely adding salt and onion chutney ready.
6. Serve with roti, dosa, upma, pongal or idli.
7. If you want you can soak a small jelly ball size tamarind and grind along with other ingredients.
